Well today dad's baby turned 40! That's right - I have finally joined the "over the hill" gang. . . and yet in many ways, I feel better today than I did in my twenties - I told Dad it was him who keeps me young! It was so nice to spend a better portion of my special day with the man I adore so much. My husband Rob & I took him to physical therapy at 9am then to get his blood drawn to check his INR. Dad had a great day at therapy - it's always good to peek back in the therapy room and see him up at the parallel bars - there is nothing quite like seeing him stand up again - even if it is only for a few minutes. We got him home and in bed and then he had a nice visit from the guys he used to work with at Wholesale Tire. Later in the evening, my family and I returned to share some cake with dad. That's when we took this picture - I made him let me sit on his lap so I could be "daddy's little girl" again-and my daughter Lexy had to jump on mine! My brother Tim is the one on the left of dad - he was at the house with his son Ryan helping mom with dad's evening duties. . .my son Robby is behind my dad, and then there's mom grinning. . .
Dad is scheduled for therapy Wednesday and Friday of this week. . . and mom returns to Cardia Rehab on those days as well. We are still waiting and hoping for them to add occupational therapy to dad's physical therapy so they can focus on that left arm. . . hopefully by Wednesday.
Thanks for checking in!
