Dad has been enjoying the Olympics. He is my news man when it comes to keeping up to speed on who's winning the gold! Robby and I took him to his co-therapy session today and when we brought him home, we put him in mom's recliner and Robby was so amazed at how good pappy looked sitting there. . . if you were to walk in that room and not know that dad couldn't walk, he would just look as healthy and normal as can be! I am still noticing his strength gradually return to his middle section. . . we just have to have patience and endurance to keep the faith through this marathon we are on. We heard a message at church Sunday from a guest speaker from Virginia Beach's Wave Church - Pastor Steve Kelly. . . about the "Caleb Generation". . . which I am now proudly a part of! It was so powerful - talking about so many people who have had a huge impact on this world and it happened after the age of 40. . . some in their 70s. Dad said to me today, "I just wonder some times if this is all worth it". . . meaning getting him in his chair with the lift and going to therapy. . . and so on. And I quickly reversed the roles and asked him if he would do the same if we were in his shoes - he said, yes of course, but you are just 40, I'm so much older. And I told him he wasn't like most 72 year olds. . . and that God was not finished with him yet! Then he laughed and said, well I guess I have no choice of the matter if you're around! Thanks to so many folks in the community who have been stopping in to see mom & dad - wow, you have no idea how much that means to him. He really enjoys the company! We have therapy Thursday and Friday - so I will post later on in the week and let you know what's going on. I also want to publicly thank my siblings - for helping to take such awesome care of our parents. I know it means the world to them to have such devoted children who are giving so much - so to David, Pam, Tommy and Timmy. . . your little sister appreciates you, loves you and thanks God for you every day. . .especially in times like these!
